Karolina Linares : Finance Your Publishing with Cash on Hand
November 26, 2006 by Victor Volkman.
Join us on Internet Voices Radio on Thursday, Nov. 30th, 2006 at 8PM EDT as we speak with author and self-publisher Karolina V. Linares of Use Cash To Buy It dot com. Her book is all about how she took the proper steps to break free from over using and abusing credit cards in her life. After taking close to five years of paying off her outrageous credit card debt, it dawned on her that she could really help other people in the same predicament. We’ll retrace the path she took to produce this remarkable book. Along the way, we’ll see how you can put her hard-won lessons to use in your own writing and publishing venture. Specifically, she’ll touch on these topics
- Use Cash To Publish
- Planning a budget to publish
- Your own talent, what you can do to save money and only expend time.
- Sticking to a plan of staying with in the budget
- Keeping a debt free attitude about publishing your creation
- Utilizing only profits for further marketing of your book
Karolina V. Linares was born in Prague, Czechoslavakia (now Czech Republic). Her family immigrated to the USA in 1969. By trade, Karolina is a graphic artist and sign designer, for over twenty years. Graphic arts, fine arts, music, cooking, sailing and of course writing are her passions. She is happily married to Julian Linares who inspired “Use Cash To Buy It!”. Together, they live a very easy going financial lifestyle based on use cash principles, even in our age of electronic transactions.

Elizabeth Burton: The Lifecycle of Publishing a Book
November 10, 2006 by Victor Volkman.
Join us on Internet Voices Radio on Thursday, Nov. 15th 2006 at 8PM EDT as we speak with veteran author and editor Elizabeth Burton. She’ll be talking to us about the basic goals and struggles that a new author must contend with: getting comfortable selling your new product, understanding the role of the editor in improving your product, effectively working with the publishing company through the steps of copyediting, proofing, cover design and all the little things that turn a manuscript into a book.
Elizabeth Burton decided she wanted to be a writer one night after she scared her friends with a made-up-on-the-spot horror tale that left them with goosebumps. Forty years later, she finally made it when her first novel, the fantasy Dreams of Darkness, was published. While she waited to get on the bestseller list, she decided to make a little spending money editing books, which led to her becoming the editor-in-chief at Zumaya Publications, a small Canadian press in 2005. She is currently a partner in the company and now living in Austin, Texas. Elizabeth calls it the “total-immersion school of publishing.”

Join us on Internet Voices Radio on Thursday, Nov. 9th, 2006 at 8PM EDT as we speak with professional publisher and author coach Steve Neubauer. Steve will brief us and lead a lively discussion about key factors in book development: doing your competitive analysis, matching your work to customer expectations of the genre, understanding demographics and its role in marketing, and discovering your promotional strengths and weaknesses.
Steve Neubauer is a co-founder of the publishing firm WordWright.biz, Inc. The company serves as an incubator for new authors and works with professional speakers and consultants to create books about their specialty areas. Steve worked 25 years for IBM as a senior market intelligence professional researching and analyzing emerging social, technological, environmental, economic, and political trends. He now focuses on helping new writers establish themselves and fulfill their publication dreams. Steve and his wife Joan own and operate WordWright.biz, Inc. and help develop new and talented writers. They offer everything an author needs from editing, cover design, typesetting, distribution, royalties, and promotion. Word Wright.biz has published over 60 books that help authors present their books to the marketplace, build credibility, polish their promotional skills, and approach bigger publishers.
